Are Molluscum HPV?No. Molluscum are caused by MCV, the molluscum contagiosum virus. HPV, or the human papilloma virus, is the cause of warts. While both of these conditons are viral in nature and spread mostly by direct contact, they are different in both appearance, and in their natural courses. Treatment of both MCV and HPV are similar, but molluscum tend to be easier to eradicate and once treated, molluscum is much less likely to reoccur. |
