How do Molluscum Spread?Molluscum spread by direct contact. This is typically via skin to skin contact which allows the virus to travel from one indivudal to another. This can occur during play between children, athletic activites, and during sexual contact as well. It is believed that some spread may occur via fomites as well (towels, benches, pools, etc.). Here the virus would spread from an infected individual to the fomite and then from the fomite to another person. |
